Introduction
In this IMS “Tools” section, software and decision support tools produced within the WELCOME project are provided. All the tools support the development of the megasite management plan, and are anchored to the various steps of the IMS. The user can benefit from the download function built into the system for each public tool as well as comprehensive guiding documentation. Also some useful tools developed in other projects then WELCOME are presented here (this list must not be considered as complete; there are more useful tools then mentioned here). The user may whish to add other tools and use these in combination with the IMS.
Most of the tools provided in IMS were also applied at three out of the four WELCOME test megasites. If available, experiences from the application are provided with the tool. The tools are subdivided into several categories:
- Developed within Welcome - outside Welcome
- "Subject" - NA, heavy metals, costs, risks, decision support, ...
- Applicability in the IMS sections: problem definition, risk assessment, scenarios or management plan implementation
- Applied at WELCOME model megasites, yes or no.
